“Wedding photography is an incredibly joyful and artful
experience,” muses Jeffrey Hecker, owner of Wedding Presence
Photography. A thinker and an artist, Jeff’s philosophy on wedding
photography parallels an essential principal of the ancient Asian
horticultural art form bonsai. “One of the overriding dimensions
of bonsai,” he explains, “is the uplifting nature of the art
form.” Miniature tree branches that point down are removed so that
the tree more fully represents life, growth, and happiness. This is
what Wedding Presence Photography is about…capturing the purest,
most lovely expression of your wedding day in photographs that evoke
the happiest of memories.
Expressive
Photographs
“I founded Wedding Presence Photography,” explains Jeff,
“to focus on the type of photography that gave me the most
pleasure…participating in the beauty, joy, and drama of a wedding
day.” With more than 25 years of experience in the business,
Jeff’s passion for wedding photography shines through in his work.
Blessed with an artist’s eye, a sentimentalist’s soul, and a
craftsman’s expertise, Jeff creates expressive, memorable wedding
photographs that powerfully capture the essence of your love.
Complete
Confidence
Communication and preparedness are essential to Jeff’s success.
Months prior to your wedding, Jeff will meet with you in his home
studio, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee or
tea and mull over the beautiful examples of his work. (He’ll also
gladly visit you in the location of your choice.) At this meeting,
you’ll get to know Jeff a bit as he learns about you, your wedding
day, and your wedding photography needs. Working with Jeff
one-on-one is a great advantage because you know exactly who will be
photographing your wedding, which is not always the case with some
studios. “Complete trust and a great fit between photographer and
bride and groom are essential to good wedding photography,” he
stresses. Multiple meetings with you, close communication with the
wedding official, and careful preparation enable Jeff to capture you
at your best and let you enjoy your day to the fullest.
Always
Prepared
Jeff will take light measurements at your wedding site ahead of
time to become familiar with the location and its photographic
dimensions and possibilities. He meets with you the week before the
wedding to review any questions that you may have. And he always
arrives on the wedding day with a bag of emergency supplies such as
makeup, pins, and combs…handy for those windy outdoor receptions!
Dramatic
Results
Wedding Presence Photography offers a variety of packages from
traditional portraits and candids to black and white, digital, and
hand-colored images. One of Jeff’s favorite wedding photographs
(which can be viewed on this Web site) is a spectacular and poignant
black and white portrait of a groom leaning contemplatively against
the wall of a church, alone in his thoughts. While you might be
drawn to black and white photography for pure drama, you may also
love the versatility of digital photography. On the Web site’s
gallery is a digital photograph that Jeff put there just for fun…a
real-life bride and groom digitally placed on the top of their
wedding cake. With digital technology, photographs (the “raw
images”) can be enhanced as desired for fabulous or imaginative
results. For the sentimentalist, old-fashioned hand-colored images
are also available. Hand-colored photographs are toned to a rich
sepia (tan-brown) color and are carefully hand painted to bring out
the blushing pink of a rose or the orange blaze of a lily, creating
a lovely heirloom-quality photograph.
Cutting-Edge
Technology, Pioneering Spirit
Jeff’s technical savvy and affinity for trying new things make
other little miracles possible for you, too. Imagine that your
beloved Aunt Sally can’t make it to the wedding. You want her to
be part of the day, but you don’t know how. Thanks to Jeff, Aunt
Sally can happily view a beautiful collage of your wedding
photographs on your own wedding Web site the day of the wedding.
Jeff can also add sound and video clips, which further enhance the
experience.

ideal and can bring you unexpected discounts that wouldn’t
otherwise be possible. Jeff is willing to travel and has

Beautiful
Memories
“Great
photographs evoke memories of what you were feeling in the
moment,” says Jeff. “Your wedding photographs should not only
show a vision, but they should convey emotion, passion, drama, and
above all…love.” For uplifting wedding photography that captures
your love at its purest, choose Wedding Presence Photography.
